March 22, 2014

A kitchen is usually one of the busiest places in the house from hot stoves, to kids running around, it can be a center of mayhem. It’s really important to keep your kitchen neat, tidy, and organized and here are 8 tips to help you do that!

  1. Place objects that are used for the same activity or purpose in assigned cabinets so that you can easily remember where they are and your kitchen can be more efficient.
  2. Store your cooking objects (pots and pans) as close to the stove as possible so you can quickly grab anything you need.
  3. When loading the dishwasher, place the silverware organized by utensil so you can easily organize them in the drawer when they are clean.
  4. Get an old coffee mug and keep essential cooking tools in it such as a pair of scissors, tongs, egg beater, spatula, and serving spoons. The mug can be kept near the stove so that the tools can be easily used.
  5. Purchase a magnetic knife storage strip so that you can keep your knives safe, sharp, and near.
  6. Hang your gloves and towels with hooks in the cabinet under the sink. If your gloves and towels do not have holes you can use a grommet-setting kit to create tear-proof holes in cloth.
  7. Use a magazine file holder as a storage container for the plastic wrap, and aluminum foil boxes
  8. Place tension curtain rods in between shelves to create dividers which can help store cutting boards, baking trays, and other objects
